Finally, after all the "pain" and "sufferings", "sai kangs" and "long hours", I am finally promoted to Lance Corporal. With this increase in rank, inevitably an increase in salary,..oops, i meant allowance. As Uncle Ben in Spiderman said," With great powers, comes great responsibility", I hope that this would not mean an increase in workload for me. I still wanna slack through my way pass NS.
This past week has been quite hectic, as i struggle with some family issues, while NS life seems more and more routine and boring,... which in itself is a good thing.
The government or more specifically the Education Minister, has decided to abolish the EM 3 system. This, in my honest opinion, is way overdue. The EM3 system had been a thorn in many parent's eyes, as pupils who were condemned to EM3 would be labelled as "stupid" and "dumb". All these labeling, would inevitably have an negative impact on those students, who might not be dumb in the first place, but just late bloomers or just attention deficient. Thus, with the abolishment of EM3, i hope that this would create a society in Singapore, where results are not the only criteria to judge a person, although, this would be an uphill struggle.
On a side note, i wonder if the abolishment of EM3 would lead to the rise of subjects, such as EL B, Mathematics B or Science B, as students who are weak in Mother Tongue is assigned to the MT B syllabus. If there is no EM3, would it mean that the "B" syllabus would be more essential, as more students would be unable to cope with the current syllabus...
Went for Marshalling on Friday, another Sai Kang that does not make any sense to me. I mean why do NSFs has to suffer so as to allow regulars to have a nice and smooth run? While at least one good thing occured, and that is i got an unexpected day off... so there is really no reason for me to complain...
Amazing Race did not disappoint... with its current batch of interesting or should i say "quirky" teams, such as the cheerleaders( both chiobus) and the gay couple. It has become a addictive programme for me. Of all the teams, i support the Sara team the most ( the female who have an artifical leg) and secondly the tyler and james team.
Oh well enough bullshit,.. time to sign off, so see u all soon...
