Ultimate Long Weekend...Work only on Friday...

Currently, on a long break, with 2 leaves and one off, strategically placed to stretch the weekend to the maximum... Monday leave, Tuesday Holiday, Wednesday Leave, Thursday off, only going back to work on Friday...

Time for me to slack and enjoy life again..., although I am kind of worried of the amount of work that awaits me when I go back to work..., while as the saying goes, Work hard, and play hard, and I did indeed "work" hard these few days...

Saw an interesting article on the Straits Time on Friday, about everyone's favourite English novelist, Thomas Hardy, about how his former residence is going to be sold/rent (not exactly sure which). This sure is good news for fans of this tragic novel writer. Imagine being able to immerse in the "creative" environment that brings characters such as Diggory Venn, and Clym Yeobright to life, and imagine being able to feel the "vibes" and "energy" emanating from the great Thomas Hardy himself. Oh, ...how I would "love" to be able to live in that house...
----Sorry for the outburst, just had a "Pang" moment there, goes to show that the influence of a "great" teacher does not end with the conclusion of your education...

Wire In The Blood, a very intriguing British Detective drama which I feel is on par with the best, such as CSI, and its "successors", CSI: NY and CSI: Miami. This series is mainly about the psychological aspects of crime-solving, and how a psychologist is able to get into the minds of the serial killer and solve seemingly "perfect" crimes. This series is currently showing on the Hallmark Channel on Thursday night 10 pm. Do watch it if you can.

Why is there an obsession among people about celebrity couples? With the recent focus on the relationship of Fann Wong and Christopher Lee after the drunk driving incident, and the relationship between Susilo and Li Jiawei, it seems, to me at least, that it is very much overhyped. I mean, come on, they are just normal human beings, who is more somewhat more famous than us, lesser folks, due to their looks or talents. It is not as if they are really extraordinary or special in anyway. So why the morbid obsession with them, and their relationship. It is not as if they should be judged on a higher moral standard than the rest of us. So we should not be subjecting them to such media scrutiny. Do unto others what you want to do unto yourself. This simple moral found in almost all religions, from Taoism to Christianity, should be a guiding post for us, whenever and whatever things we do in our lives. And it is because of this principle that we should not be too overly focused on the lives of the rich and famous. Perhaps the only reason that we seems to be obsessed with such behaviour, would be that we are jealous of them and any mishaps that happen to them would stroke our own foolish egos and make us feel superior to them...

Well, enough comments on current affairs, time to sign off and enjoy my 4 day break,...smell ya all later...
