Time passes...2006 gonna be gone forever...

In a blink of an eye, 2006 is gonna pass soon, and 2007, the Lunar year of the pig is fast approaching.

2006 marks the transformation of a civilian me, to a military personnel. 2006, in fact, started out inauspiciously for me, as less than 20 days into the year, I was "drafted" into the SAF. The 7 weeks of modified BMT was a series of first for me. First field camp, first truly regimental life. Luckily, that is over now. It was one of the hardest time for me, as I was not used to staying with a bunch of people, whom I barely knew. Thus, I did not made much friends during BMT, and I hardly stay in touch with my BMT mates anymore.

Almost till the end of BMT, came the A Levels result. Considering the effort that I put in, I was actually quite shocked by my results, but what's done is done, and I still have a place in NUS Chinese Faculty, so I will have to buck up there.

Posted to my unit in MINDEF, First as a reporter in Army News. But then the editor felt that I was not suited to the job, so I was internally transferred up to MINDEF main building, to the administrative side of my department. Admittedly, the transfer has been good, as my job there allows me to exercise my brain, and that I am forced to think and react to unexpected situations, so it is a good training of my character.

Furthermore, this vocation has shown me for the first time, the true meaning of office politics. Truly, it is amazing the amount of acting that truly goes on in the office. Double-Headed snakes and ass-kissers are abound and one has to be mentally alert to stay on top of this game.

Social life wise, I still sucked at Dota, still occassionally think of missed opportunites, still want to club more, still want to watch more movies... Hope to improve on all these aspects of my life.

2007, one year has passed in my army life. One more year to ORDed. Seriously, I cannot wait for that day to come.

Enough reminisincing... time to move forward n embrace the new yr, cya,
